The Backstory

In 2015, my company Nelson Wellness Center was growing nicely, yet we were spending more hours dealing with insurance companies than with clients. It was a very negative way to spend our energy. This was not the way I wanted to promote health. I assessed the situation and my life, concluding the best approach was to promote wellness instead of the current “sick care” model. Thus, I closed Nelson Wellness Center and Yoga Health Works was born. Integrating thirty plus years of healthcare, fitness training, manual skills, yoga and mindfulness training focused on the whole person, rather than one body part at a time. It is a journey for each of us. Everyone has a different path so I strive to meet individuals at their own starting point and progress from there. As we travel the path, insights occur, mindsets change, body energy changes and an enthusiasm for life in this moment occurs. It is fusion of body and mind health and each conscious choice builds wealth in wellness.

She discovered yoga in 2004, immediately experiencing the benefits, and became certified to teach yoga in 2006.  The experience was transforming and now her passion is to share the wonders of yoga. She integrates alignment and modifications in the poses so that yoga is safe for everyone.

Agnes believes in working with the mind and body proactively to build "wealth". This means investing in your health with each choice you make concerning sleep, exercise, nutrition and stress. She works with individuals or groups with a yoga progression that is beneficial and safe.  She teaches a variety of Wellness Workshops and leads Yoga Quests (see workshop topics). Teaching and connecting with others is her passion.

When not working, Agnes’ favorite place to be is with her kids, partner, and pets, laughing and playing outside. Passions include hiking, traveling, cycling, skiing, kayaking, beach time, gardening, and any play that includes the outdoors. She also enjoys reading, eating delicious food and watching great movies. She believes in “creating your special day, everyday.”
